I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease when I was 13 years old. I have dealt with fairly consistent symptoms since then, which finally came to a very painful head in April of this year. I finally made the decision to have the surgery I did not want: to have my colon removed and be given a permanent ileostomy. It was a long road to get to acceptance of the decision, but now I'm so glad I did. I am living a much better and healthier life than I had been in more than a decade.
I hope now to be able to show others that your life isn't over just because you reach this diagnosis. You can rise above it and live a life just a full as if you didn't have this disease.
I'd love to get to know each of you, so feel free to contact me on at my blog, google+, facebook or twitter.
